David J. Moraine, J.D., LL.M. is the president of David J. Moraine, P.C. Mr. Moraine holds law licenses in Texas and New York. He is admitted to practice in Texas State Courts, New York State Courts, Federal District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Western District of Michigan, United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Moraine holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from The University of Houston Law Center, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. He attended graduate school at The University of Texas at Arlington, graduating with a Master of Arts in Political Science with dual concentrations in International Affairs and Public Administration. He attended undergraduate school at The University of Texas in San Antonio, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
For the past thirteen years, Mr. Moraine has consulted with and served as an editor for academics in the areas of legal ethics, fiduciary liability, and the professional obligations of attorneys. His latest article, "Loyalty Divided: Duties To Clients and Duties To Others - The Civil Liability Of Tax Attorneys Made Possible By The Acceptance Of A Duty To The System," was published in the American Bar Association Section on Taxation publication, The Tax Lawyer
Mr. Moraine was appointed by the State Bar of Texas to evaluate the bar examination responses for the business organizations and family law sections of the Texas bar, and he presently serves on the Dallas Bar Association's Legal Ethics Committee and Fee Dispute Committee. Mr. Moraine is an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman's University where he teaches on the structure and function of the U.S. Court system and techniques of appellate advocacy. Professionally, he has lectured on subjects ranging from ethical representation, to techniques for jury selection.
